Why can't I unstake from Okex validator on Slush?

I'm having trouble unstaking from the Okex validator using Slush because nothing happens when I click 'Unstake'. Could this be a gas issue or something else?

You can't unstake from the OKX validator through Slush Pool because they're completely separate staking providers—Slush doesn't control validator operations on OKX's end. If you staked via OKX, you need to manage it in their interface; Slush has no visibility or access to those positions. Clicking "Unstake" on Slush won't do anything because there's no linked delegation to OKX validators in their system.

If you're actually staking through Slush and the unstake function isn't responding, it could be a frontend glitch, wallet interaction timeout, or pending transaction in your wallet (e.g., MetaMask). Check your connected wallet for stuck approvals or failed txs. Also, some chains enforce cooldown periods—like Polkadot’s 28-hour unbonding window—so unstaking isn’t instant.

Bottom line: confirm where you staked. If it’s OKX, go there. If it’s Slush, debug wallet connectivity and pending states. Mixing providers causes this exact confusion.

Do you have enough gas in your wallet? It seems like you might need to ensure there's enough gas to complete the transaction.

Kindly check your internet network connection and ensure you have enough sui to pay for gas

On Sui (and apps like Slush that sit on top), “nothing happens” on unstake usually isn’t just a gas issue. A few common reasons:

  • Epoch timing: Sui staking only unlocks at epoch boundaries. If you click “Unstake,” the request is queued, but your coins won’t be liquid until the next epoch completes. Until then, it can look like nothing changed.
  • UI lag vs. chain state: Sometimes the wallet dApp doesn’t refresh. If the transaction actually went through, you’ll see an UnstakeRequest object on-chain that will resolve after the epoch ends.
  • Validator status: If the Okex validator had issues (offline, jailed, etc.), the staking contract may block or delay new actions.
  • Gas object problems: Rare but possible — if your selected gas coin is tiny, the tx may fail. In that case you’d see a rejected tx in your wallet history, not silent nothing.

Best move:

  1. Check your wallet or explorer to see if the “unstake” transaction was submitted.
  2. Look for an UnstakeRequest object tied to your address.
  3. Wait for the next epoch to actually get the funds back into a liquid coin.

So it’s almost always epoch unlock mechanics or UI refresh, not gas shortage.
