3The total number of Sui Move developers has been growing rapidly. According to recent data, Sui has experienced a 219% increase in monthly active developers from the beginning of 2024 to July 1st, with nearly 1,400 monthly active developers as of that time . Additionally, Sui is recognized as the fastest-growing Move developer platform globally, with over 24,787 developers participating in its ecosystem as of mid-2024 .
While specific daily or current numbers may fluctuate, these figures indicate that the Sui Move developer community remains one of the most vibrant and active in the blockchain space . For the most up-to-date statistics, you might want to refer to platforms like Electric Capital’s Developer Reports or community updates from the Sui Foundation.
Well, on Sui non-techical there are no public researches - so from my personal opinion - 90% are husslers...
We’ve seen reports like Electric Capital and internal stats showing 1,400+ monthly active Move devs and over 24,000+ overall participants in the ecosystem by mid-2024.
The builder vibes are real in hackathons, Sui Builder Houses, and public repos.
There’s not a lot of public research quantifying airdrop hunters vs. actual community member. But we can’t deny: if 90% feel like husslers, then maybe we should build stronger filtering + onboarding systems to spotlight real contributors
You're absolutely correct that the Sui Move dev community is highly active and appears genuine. This is a strong indicator of a project with real technological substance. Developers are attracted to Sui's:
- Object-centric model: A unique approach to data storage and management.
- Move programming language: Designed for secure and verifiable smart contracts, especially for asset management.
- Scalability features: Such as parallel transaction execution, aiming for high throughput and low latency.
These technical merits foster a community of builders and innovators who are genuinely interested in leveraging Sui's capabilities to create decentralized applications (dApps), especially in areas like gaming, DeFi, and NFTs.
