You can check different validators to make your decision at https://suivision.xyz/validators. Choosing a validator with the lowest commission and highest APR is recommended. Mysten 1/2 is suggested, but smaller validators might also be good options.

The best way to stake SUI is through wallets with built‑in staking features like Suiet Wallet, Martian Wallet, or the official Sui Wallet. These let you delegate directly to validators such as P2P.org, Everstake, or Ankr, where you stay in full control of your tokens (non‑custodial). Choosing a validator with low commission and high uptime maximizes rewards.

Unstaking on Sui is instant—there’s no lock‑up period. When you choose “Unstake” in your wallet, your staked tokens and any earned rewards are immediately returned to your balance. However, staking changes only take effect at epoch boundaries (epochs last ~24 hours), so rewards start or stop accruing from the next epoch after you stake or unstake.

The primary distinction between liquid and native staking lies in accessibility. Liquid staking provides you with tokens that can be swapped at any time for other assets, while native staking requires you to manually unstake your tokens before they can be used.

You can unstake SUI directly from the SUI wallet. Unstaking is instant but you can only unstake after 1 epoch has ended from your stake time.
